The Coolest Place in the Galaxy!
The Hockey Open House Celebration at Space City Ice on Saturday 4/12/08 was a success. We had hockey player statues & music. We recruited some new ladies that seemed interested in playing. I want to thank these volunteers for coming out to work the Women League booth. And check out the pictures and see Sue McConnell’s awesome 5’ goalie statue.

ABOUT THE BAR….. For those over 21!
Our GM has asked to pass along that the bar now has individual wine bottles. Margaritas will be available on rocks. The word is that we will have a Margarita machine soon that they are awaiting a part!

BEFORE 1ST GAME USA Hockey: All skaters must be registered before they can step on the ice. This list is recorded at rink after players follow these simple steps:
Go to USA Hockey membership www.usahockey.com. Complete the on line form & pay. They will electronically email you your USA membership number & explanation about your supplemental insurance you get. You then forward your USA number to the rink (by copy/pasting information) to: register@spacecityicestation.com

CONGRATULATIONS to the KIWI's (green) Team for winning the SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP! What a fun game it was going into double overtime for the end result.
Our GAME MVP was awarded to our newcomer and winning goal-scorer, Lora Ardoin!
THE LEAGUE IS HAPPY TO HAVE OUR MVP TROPHY BACK AT THE RINK. Our wood-framed statue adawned with red goal light was handmade by Dan Stoli for the Women's League. It was taken from the rink about a year ago, so "thanks" to whomever was gracious enough to return it!

Day: Tuesdays - 12 weeks
Times: 8:20pm & 9:30 *(September games might be slightly later due to youth leagues - to be announced)
Fees: Player fee is $205 and Goalie fee is $100
DISCOUNT opportunities only at SCIS -
New Player Recruit (new to league) - $20 Discount (must be approved by Mina Tomaro & Lanny Smith)
Multi-League at SCIS - $25 Discount
For EARLY BIRDS registered by Monday, June 23 - you will be entered in drawings for Skate sharpenings, Hockey Classes, Drop-ins from SCIS and SLICE, 2 hand-autographed photos of Jack Johnson of LA Kings and we still have more stuff coming in!!
NEW PROCESS FOR HOCKEY JERSEYS ...
Starting with our new 7/1/08 season, in an effort to keep league fees down, jerseys will not be included in fees but will be recycled by the rink. They will re-order as needed. At the end of each season, you will need to return jerseys at the front desk. Otherwise, the rink will assess your account wtih a $20 fee to order a replacement jersey. Please get your jerseys in early so the rink can get them laundered and ready for the start of our new season.
